MACK BROOK FARM PRACTICES
We are dedicated to providing you with the healthiest
and most
delicious beef anywhere. We practice sustainable, time-honored farming
methods where the cattle graze in rotational pastures, in a humane,
stress-free environment. Our cattle do not receive hormones,
antibiotics, pesticides or fillers.
Grassfed
Purchasing meat from Mack Brook Farm provides 100%
traceability. Our cattle are born and raised on the farm.
They eat only our pasture grasses during the growing season and then
hay from only ourfields in winter. The cattle are unconfined on
over 60 acres of pasture year-round.
These practices have earned Mack Brook Farm the American Grassfed
Association's seal. AGA standards do not allow any grain or
confinement. Rules that are stricter than the USDA .
Aged
We insist on dry-aging our beef. Our local processor has been in business over 40 years and ages the meat using the 'swinging beef' process rarely practiced anymore. This method ages every cut giving the meat a deep concentrated flavor. We decide on an individual basis when each animal is ready to market. They travel only five miles to our processor which greatly reduces the stress on the animal. The result is a more marbled grass-finished product with a juicy, tender taste.
Humane
We are proud recipients of the Animal Welfare Seal of Approval, assuring you that our cattle are treated with the utmost respect and humane care. In order to qualify for this award, Animal Welfare Approved audited both our farm and our processor. Animal Welfare Approved is an independent certifying organization.
